🚨 Heading downtown this weekend? Expect major delays across Toronto.
Toronto drivers and TTC riders should prepare for a busy weekend as several major closures, transit disruptions, and large events are expected to impact travel across the city.
From Friday, May 8 at 11 p.m. until Monday, May 11 at 5 a.m., the Don Valley Parkway (DVP) will be fully closed from Highway 401 to the Jarvis Street ramp at the Gardiner Expressway for scheduled maintenance and construction work.
TTC riders should also plan ahead, as a portion of Line 2 Bloor-Danforth will be shut down this weekend. Subway service between Kipling and Jane stations will be replaced by shuttle buses beginning Friday night due to planned signal work.
Adding to the congestion, the Sporting Life 10K takes place on Sunday, May 10, bringing road closures across several major Toronto streets as more than 24,000 participants take part in the annual event.
Combined with Blue Jays games, TFC crowds, concerts, spring events, and increased GO Transit activity, commuters should expect heavier-than-normal traffic throughout the weekend — especially near downtown Toronto, Union Station, Rogers Centre, and Exhibition Place.
